Web Developer

C.I.P. Citizens In Power (CIP) is a non-profit, educational and research organization. CIP constitutes one of the leading organizations in Cyprus in the fields of global education, social innovation, entrepreneurship, STEM and sustainable growth. CIP aims at designing and implementing pioneering solutions in order to address deficiencies in education at different levels. To achieve such target, CIP has established an on-going collaboration with leading universities, NGOs and research organizations in Cyprus and abroad; particularly for the materialization of European research projects, international trainings and conferences, as well as for the deployment of innovative educational material such as web platforms, Virtual Reality tools and other technological innovations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design, build, or maintain Web sites, using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media.
Design and implement Web site security measures, such as firewalls and message encryption.
Confer with management or development teams to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.
Evaluate code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems
Research, document, rate, or select alternatives for Web architecture or technologies.
Incorporate technical considerations into Web site design plans, such as budgets, equipment, performance requirements, and legal issues including accessibility and privacy.
Update knowledge about emerging industry or technology trends.

Minimum Qualifications

University Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or any other relevant field
Expertise in programming with WordPress CMC, PHP, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, SQL.
Proven experience (portfolio) in web development
Fluency in English language

Additional Qualifications that will be considered as an advantage

Bootstrap 4 or any CSS framework knowledge will be considered an advantage.

Knowledge of CSS pre-processors, such as LESS and SASS will be considered an advantage.
Have an understanding regarding the use of technology for teaching and learning.
Prior involvement in social and / or community initiatives
Develop and deliver introductory training related with Coding, Microcontrollers, 3D-Modeling and web/app development will be considered an advantage
Excellent team skills
Design and develop web apps and plain e-games
Good character
Willing to learn and take initiatives
