Learners who complete training delivered by Citizens in Power receive their certification as a micro-credential in digital form — secure, portable and instantly verifiable anywhere in the EU.

The European approach to micro-credentials

CIP issues micro-credentials as European Digital Credentials (EDCs) through the Europass infrastructure, in line with the European approach to micro-credentials set out in the Council Recommendation of 16 June 2022. Each credential is built on the European Learning Model (ELM) — the EU’s machine-readable standard for learning credentials — and carries the full set of standard elements defined in the Recommendation: the learning outcomes achieved, notional workload (expressed in ECTS where applicable), EQF level, the type of assessment undertaken and the quality assurance applied.

Secure and legally recognised

Every credential is sealed with an eIDAS-compliant qualified electronic seal issued by a Qualified Trust Service Provider on the EU Trusted List. The seal confers the legal presumption of integrity and origin and ensures cross-border equivalence to paper certificates.

Owned by the learner, verified in seconds

Recipients hold their credentials in their personal Europass library and share them with employers or education and training providers at their discretion. Verification is instant and issuer-independent: any third party can confirm a credential’s authenticity and content without contacting CIP.

Stackable by design

Individual micro-credentials accumulate towards larger qualifications and recognised learning pathways, supporting lifelong learning, employability and mobility across the EU.
