Project Manager and Researcher
Marialena Larkou is a Project Manager and Researcher at the NGO Citizens in Power (CIP). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Turkish and Middle-Eastern Studies with a specialization in History and Politics from the University of Cyprus, and a Master of Arts (MA) in Political Science with a focus on European Politics. Marialena’s expertise spans linguistics, history, and political science, with particular interests in migration in Europe, humanitarian issues, the EU’s relationship with third countries, and the reconciliation of Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot communities on a national level. She also closely follows the multi-level challenges the EU faces and its role as a soft power on the international stage.
Marialena brings valuable experience from two prominent EU institutions, having worked for a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and served on the staff of the European Commission Representation in Cyprus. This background has provided her with a deep understanding of the European political landscape and the intricacies of EU policies.
At CIP, Marialena combines her academic knowledge and practical experience to drive impactful projects, contributing meaningfully to the organization’s mission.
