Giota Mourettou

Co-Founder & Head of Research and Development, Citizens in Power (CIP) NGO

Giota Mourettou is Co-Founder and Head of the Research and Development Department of the research NGO Citizens in Power (CIP). Over the past thirteen years, she has led the design, writing, and scientific supervision of more than 200 European research and education projects, positioning CIP among the most active and innovative organizations in Cyprus and Europe. With deep expertise in programmes such as Erasmus+ (KA2/KA3), Horizon Europe, CERV, AMIF, ENI CBC MED, EEA Norway Grants, Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, and others, she has contributed to building a project portfolio with a total budget exceeding €40 million, consistently promoting interdisciplinarity, creativity, STEAM approaches, and social innovation in education.

Her academic path reflects her commitment to cross-disciplinary knowledge. She is a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), holding a Bachelor’s and an MEng in Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences, specializing in Statistics, ICT, and programming, while also completing a three-year Acting Diploma at the “Theatro Technis–Karolos Koun” Drama School. She continued with a Master of Research (MRes) in Communication at the London School of Economics (LSE). This combination of STEM, social sciences, digital innovation, and the arts defines her work and lies at the heart of CIP’s philosophy: an education that connects knowledge, empowers citizens, fosters creativity, and cultivates skills for a constantly evolving world.
