Project Researcher – Manager
Dr. Chara Olympiou holds a BSc and MSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Brighton, UK, and a PhD in Pharmacy from Queen’s University Belfast, UK. Throughout her studies, she specialized in microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, and infection control. Her research focused on developing innovative strategies for preventing, detecting, and treating biomaterial-associated infections, as well as improving public health through evidence-based interventions. She has led and contributed to international, interdisciplinary collaborations across Europe, the USA, and China, supported by major funding bodies such as EPSRC, NIHR, and DfE. Her work has been published in high-impact journals and featured at global scientific conferences. Before joining Citizens in Power (CIP), Dr. Olympiou served as a science educator and coordinator at a private secondary school, promoting STEM engagement and sustainability initiatives in education. Currently, she works as a Project Manager–Researcher and Proposal Writer at CIP, contributing to the design and implementation of EU-funded projects that promote inclusion, education and sustainability.
