FEMLEAD introduces a new model for Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) to implement comprehensive measures for reducing the gender gap in STEM, assuming a central role in social change. It incorporates a multi-stakeholder approach to advance Open Science practices and STEM initiatives in HEIs, promoting gender diversity, inclusivity, and systematization. HEI staff, students, researchers, and (minority) women communities, research organizations and policymakers are trained and mobilized to facilitate women’s participation.
FEMLEAD creates
- a VLL on inclusive gender methodologies in R&I (STEM/OS) to train HEI researchers, students, and other stakeholders.
- facilitates female researchers and students’ co-participation in STEM Open Science projects, showcasing female achievement and increasing recruitment opportunities in OS Fairs and Info Days.
- co-develops Policy Recommendations and Gender Equality Implementation Plans, to ensure the effective mainstreaming of inclusive gender practices within HEIs and beyond.
TARGET GROUPS:
Higher Education Institute STEM students and early/mid-career researchers [70:30 gender ratio], (minority) women communities in HEI, Open Science/STEM grassroots communities, HEI staff and Research & Innovation professionals, HE/OS policymakers.
FEMLEAD will make (digital) provisions to actively include participants with intersectional gender identities and people facing socio economic, migrant and other barriers.
