AI Exhibits

The “AI Exhibits” project aims to cultivate AI literacy among secondary school students and educators using non-formal science museum methodologies. By demystifying core AI concepts through interactive exhibits and pop-up displays, the project seeks to create an AI-literate generation capable of understanding, engaging with, and critically evaluating artificial intelligence.

Target Groups:

The primary beneficiaries of the project are secondary school students and educators across Europe. Specifically, the project targets mainstream secondary schools, including students with diverse backgrounds and abilities, aiming for inclusivity in AI education. Additionally, AI professionals, science museum professionals, policymakers, and university professors in relevant fields constitute the broader target audience.

Consortium:

  • IMAGINARY gGmbH (Germany)
  • C.I.P. Citizens In Power (Cyprus)
  • I.T. Giordani-Striano (Italy)
  • Sorbonne Université (France)
  • Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e.V. (Germany)

Project Results:

  • Develop interactive AI exhibits in science museums to engage students and educators, fostering AI literacy through hands-on activities and experimentation.
  • Create pop-up AI exhibits for integration into secondary school subjects, offering contextual learning experiences and practical skills development.
  • Conduct AI workshops for secondary school teachers to enhance their understanding and competency in AI, enabling them to incorporate AI concepts into their teaching practices.
  • Promote digital transformation and interdisciplinary learning in school settings, addressing the digital skills gap and encouraging STEAM-oriented career pathways.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between formal and non-formal education sectors, creating synergies to advance AI literacy across Europe.

Through these efforts, the project seeks to contribute to the European Education Initiative, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and the broader agenda of fostering digital literacy and competencies among youth in Europe and beyond.
