KA220-ADU – Cooperation partnerships in adult education
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected several aspects of people’s lives beyond health. The social isolation limited the contact between loved ones and within communities. However, the impact of confinement was even more prominent for people with functional disabilities (ODISMET, 2020). Meanwhile, different research revealed that this effect was alleviated when people with disabilities had internet access and engaged in civic participation even more than before the pandemic (Shakespeare, Ndagire, & Seketi, 2021).
Informed by this research, the ACTIVATE project focuses on the tools that have had a positive impact on people with functional diversity, such as technology for digital participation. The project will create training and resources that will empower adults with disabilities to actively participate in their communities.
The project results include:
A training course on online community action and social participation mechanisms
A toolkit of practical tools for the promotion of online community participation
The training course will primarily target adults with disabilities, while the toolkit will aim to reach multidisciplinary professionals who work with people with disabilities.
